Each gathering creates a unique convergence of people, questions, and intentions that becomes its own field of experimentation for exploring the complex issues we face. The collective creativity that emerges continues well beyond residency, unfolding into new networks, trainings, tools, installations, articles and other forms of collaboration.

Cultivation Studio 2026–2027

Inspired by Studio Atelierista’s Togetherness residencies in France and Finland, and the Being Together Labs, a group of 18 educators and educational leaders in the US will come together for a year-long Cultivation Studio in New York. Led by Arawana Hayashi, choreographer and founder of Social Presencing Theater, alongside collaborators, the initiative integrates Being Together practices into the Social Presencing Theater program. Through this work, the group explores how embodied and relational practices can cultivate presence and connection in educational environments, from high schools to universities.

Pedagogies of Togetherness in Higher Education, Paris 2026-2027

Inspired by the residencies in France and Finland, a group in Paris is deepening the social art and togetherness work alongside the Learning Planet Institute. Led by Anne-Sophie Dubanton, Agathe Peltereau-Villeneuve (Presencing Institute), and Marc Santolini (Learning Planet Institute), the initiative brings pedagogies of togetherness into higher education. Through social arts, embodied knowledge, deep listening, and participatory action research, the group explores how to create spaces where young people can slow down, sense themselves and each other, and learn to co-create together. This work connects the practices cultivated in the residencies with a broader effort to reimagine education with, for and by young people.

Aesthetic Language Cards 2026

Developed by Arawana Hayashi and Ricardo Dutra Gonçalves since 2017, the Aesthetic Language Cards support practitioners in noticing how attention, perception, and interaction shape the social fields we co-create. Combining visual and verbal prompts, the cards invite us to explore what we see, sense, and feel in moments of encounter. During the 2025 Paris residency, we revisited the original published edition, developing and testing a new version. What emerged from the residency became the basis for the revised edition, now available as a digital deck for individual and collective practice.

WellSpaces Network 2026

Coordinated and pedagogically led by Studio Atelierista, WellSpaces connects organizations and practitioners across Europe around a shared belief: that safety, belonging, and hope are the ground from which young people grow into wise civic action. Coordinated from Italy and co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme, the network now unites 27 organizations across 17 countries, recognized by the European Union as a long-term structural actor in European youth policy. Its framework, Safety → Belonging → Hope → Wise Agency, carries the same inquiry that shaped Studio Atelierista's own residencies into a structure other organizations can build on too.

First Gathering of Cultural Space Educators of Espírito Santo, Vitória 2026

Building on the years of work through social art residencies in Europe and Latin America, Ddaniela Aguilar, Milena Maurtua and Ricardo Dutra presented Studio Atelierista: Collective Creativity Through Social Art Residencies at the first Gathering of Educators from Cultural Spaces of Espírito Santo, organized by UFES and Cais das Artes and held at UFES in Vitória, Brazil. Their presentation explored a question central to our practice: how can we develop creative processes in which art emerges from collective work? The gathering brought our experiences into dialogue with cultural and educational practitioners in Brazil, extending conversations from the residencies and connecting practices across Europe and Latin America.

Soft Struggle (Lotta Gentile) 2025–2026

Emerging from Studio Atelierista’s Paris residency in 2025, a collaboration between practitioners connected through  Nothing Happens continued in Florence through Soft Struggle, an experimental workshop facilitated by Barabás Szigeti and Kadence Luella Neill. Through ordinary actions performed in public space — reading, singing, sitting, writing, and blowing bubbles — participants explored how presence is negotiated, and how we take up space in relation to others. The encounter led to a further collaboration in Florence in 2026, when five members of the group spent a week developing two artistic pieces exploring shared space and relationality, to be presented at a festival. A ripple of the residency, the work carries the inquiry into togetherness through new artistic and collective forms.

Deep Call Intervention 2026

Deep Call emerged from the reverberations of the 2025 Paris residency, carried home by a Florentine group into the ground they already shared. A telephonic installation that creates community experiences through collective phone memory, restoring centrality of voice, word, and sound. Rooted in social inclusion, hacking, and reuse, it reimagines an object that now lives more in our collective memory than in our hands—the analogue telephone—as a space where people can leave and encounter one another's voices: a low-tech, high-intimacy alternative to the ways we usually connect.

Being Together Labs 2024–2026

Emerging alongside the longer social art residencies in Paris and Helsinki, the Being Together Labs are short co-creation laboratories that bring artists, educators, and creative practitioners together to explore how we might craft pedagogies of togetherness. Usually unfolding over one to three days, the labs create spaces for embodied practice, experimentation, reflection, and collective sense-making. Taking different forms and names across Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy, and online, they have developed as interconnected processes, informing and being informed by the residencies. Through repeated encounters, training, and shared practice, the labs cultivate ways of being together and explore how social arts can contribute to more connected and inclusive educational environments.
