The Studio Atelierista brings together people from various disciplines and practices, making the intangible visible through relational and creative processes. Across residencies and interventions, we activate awareness-based collective creativity through social arts.
























This is where the foundations of Studio Atelierista began to take shape, through artistic residencies, research processes, and collective explorations. Today, it remains a living site of inquiry and possibility, where relationships, collaborations, and new forms of arts-based social practices continue to emerge. From these ongoing encounters, new pathways and initiatives are unfolding, contributing to the wider ecosystem that Studio Atelierista is nurturing.

The Social Art Residencies in the Yucatán laid the foundations that would later give rise to Studio Atelierista. Bringing together artists, designers, educators, and social change practitioners, the residencies explored the intersection of awareness-based practices, artistic processes, and social transformation. Rooted in embodied inquiry, collective creativity, and engagement with local communities, the Yucatán remains a source of inspiration where new social art initiatives continue to unfold.

In our global context, with the complex issues we face — the erosion of democracy, gender inequality, racism, social inequality, forced displacement, climate change, and other interconnected challenges — it’s no longer possible to pretend that we’re not seeing.

Often, truly seeing requires the sensitivity to see beyond the visible and to listen beyond the spoken. Hence, the significance of noticing the intangible in further enhancing layers of comprehension and understanding, ultimately leading to new meanings and forms of engagement.
